The Depths of Space

"The Depths of Space" is a small series I created for The Luminarium's 26th release, Depth.

The series comes from two things, firstly, the shear size of space. In the infamous words of Douglas Adams;

Space is big. Really big. You just won't believe how vastly, hugely, mind-bogglingly big it is. I mean, you may think it's a long way down the road to the chemist, but that's just peanuts to space. - Douglas Adams, The Hitchiker's Guide To The Galaxy.

This is then coupled with the speed of light, and the constraints this puts on what we can know about what is going on out in the universe, that everything we see outside of our solar system is really the past, in some cases hundreds or thousands of years into history, and as a result, we have no idea what is going on in the depths of space.
